Front tooth pain after wisdom tooth extraction

Hi- I had an upper wisdom tooth (not impacted) extracted on Thursday afternoon and since this morning have had a dull sort of ache/ pain and sensitivity in the front tooth on the same side. My bite also feels slightly different.

It took a fair bit of tugging and force to get the tooth out- is there any chance the dentist could have knocked my front tooth?

What was the reason for removing the tooth?

Dentist advised it- it was catching the gum as by bottom one on that side hasn't come through.
