I noticed this red patch above my gumline while I was inspecting a painful canker sore and Google results are telling me it's something that needs looking at urgently. I've recently moved and don't have a dentist or doctor here yet so I was hoping to get a quick opinion.

Check if the redness disappears with the canker sore that heals. The redness might be associated with inflammation in that area due to an increased immune response.
