dry socket, nearly 5 months

hi all, i am new here.

october 1st 2013 i had my back bottom tooth extracted, all of it came out. i got dry socket straight after. 3 weeks ago i pulled the packing out via the toothbrush. its nearly the end of feb now and there is still a hole and i still have dry socket pain, surely this should have closed up by now? my dentist at the time did not help. could anyone here advise me on this please.
