I had a root canal on tooth #20 at one of those regional chain dental clinics. In hindsight, I should’ve turned around the moment they handed me the wrong pre-medication—with someone else’s name on it. Thankfully, the CVS pharmacist saved the day (and possibly my life).
It’s been almost a month, and I’m still in pain. I can’t chew on that side without flinching. When I went back, the dentist shrugged and told me to take Tylenol—because clearly, nothing says “quality care” like over-the-counter painkillers and indifference.
I already have a few implants, and my gut (and jaw) tells me the root canal wasn’t done right. They’ve got me scheduled for a crown, but I’m not letting anyone near that tooth until I know it was cleaned out properly. I may need a second opinion.
Anyone you’d trust with a tooth and a thousand bucks? Or should I just go with the most reliable option—yank it out, save myself the PTSD, and put the money toward therapy and smoothies? Appreciate any help pointing me in the right direction.
