Did endodontic retreatment go wrong? And what can be done if it did?

I would really appreciate it if somebody could comment my case.

I had 2 root canals treated earlier (25+ and 12+ years ago). I needed to crown my front teeth and was sent to the endodontist to redo the root canals (if possible) since apex wasn't reached in both of them.

The endodontist (with great online reviews!) promised to do a great job and proceeded with 2 endodontic retreatments. Immediately after treatment I noticed gaps and asked about them but the endodontist said that I will be fine. However my dentist canceled my crown preparation appointment until either I address those voids or accept taking the risk of placing crowns on that foundation. Who is right here and what could be done?

I am not a specialist but simple search shows that a good root canal obturation should be of appropriate length and completely filled with the obturation material, leaving no voids or gaps.

And different publications show that voids create a high risk of periodontal inflammation (this one for example https://www.mdpi.com/2076-3417/13/11/6814 )

The picture with metal posts is the one with the retreatment.

Could you please comment on the quality of 2 endodontic retreatments and post placements? And what would you recommend?

Were you already seen by the endodontist? Both of these root canals as well as the restoration afterwards is poor in my opinion.

Thank you for your reply. The endodontist made the retreatments of root canals, restorations are not done yet because the dentist said that I'll better try to address voids and gaps left after retreatment before placing crowns. However endodontist said that he did beautiful job!

Do you have any symptoms on these teeth? I would not recommend putting permanent crowns immediately. Try and do a good "temporary" filling first, and wait to see if the root canals that were re-done, were successful, before placing expensive permanent crowns on these teeth. I would say +- 3 months.
