Crown or extraction - best solution?

Had a pretty big filling to try and restore a previously cracked tooth thats previous filling had slightly come away. 2 months later a quarter of the tooth around the filling has came away. What is the best solution? Not currently in any pain.

The larger the filling, the weaker it becomes. It the tooth is almost three-quarters filling, then a full coverage crown, might be a better long term solution.
