My mother recently got implants. Went for it because of the pricing. Dentist said they were using Straumann products. She has since been having problems with the quality and had to go back multiple times with issues. We found out from another patient that they were using counterfeit implants. Has anyone else come across dentists selling counterfeit products?

Well, I wouldn't say it's courterfeit, it should adress as "compatible", Straumann it's a good implant supplier, they have been proven themselves as a trustworthy implant brand like Nobel, Zimmer, Hiossen etc. You said you went for it because of the "pricing", that's why you get a compatible implant rather than Authentic, most of the compatible implants are not made by the original manufacturer. These are third-party implants designed to work with Authentic implant systems. But don't get me wrong, it's more cheaper but should be able to work just like the Authentic parts, what's the exact problem you been went through? it's maybe the emergence profile issue or something else that lead to you pay visit to the practice several times.
