Chronic Long Term Jaw Pain After Othognathic Surgery

My wife had orthographic surgery in 1992 to correct supposed bite issues. Since that surgery, she has suffered for decades with chronic pain in her upper left jaw, aside her nose… likely where there was a cut or screw used. She has had all hardware, except for some clips, removed. She has has all her upper teeth removed. The pain, although it varies in level, has never subsided. She has been convinced for some time that it may be a viral or bacterial infection, but has never found a doctor that will cooperate to take an appropriate medullary cavity (?) sample and have it tested. She has pursed numerous avenues, has researched for hours upon hours and tried at-home therapies to no avail. One time she had acupuncture for something and she said it miraculously made the pain go away, but only very temporarily. This pain has literally ruined her life. She’s a senior and we would like to restore her so she can at least enjoy the rest of her life. I know there may be a lot more detail needed but wanted to get started in this. We live in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, but willing to travel… anywhere, for a resolution.
