It is hard to evaluate root canals on x-rays alone. X-rays are only 2 dimensional and we are not able to view anatomic structure towards or away from the film. So far your x-rays look good. I've seen bad root canals fills with no problems (no pain, no swelling) and good fills having problems. After the root canals settle down with no symptoms, get crowns on the molars or they will be at risk for fracture or failure.

Thanks. The dentist mentioned about a broken file on #31 but he said he wasn't worried because it was far down the root or something. He said if it causes an issue down the line, it may need to be seen by specialist.

I'm saving money for crowns. Don't have insurance.

If the instrument separates in a vital canal with no infection, you should be fine. If your pulp is necrotic with abscess, then you have a higher risk for root canal failure. How you know is if you have pain and or swelling. In the past, root canals were filled with silver points (like separated instruments) and many still going well.

As far as I remember, the teeth had big cavities that were close to nerve. Don't remember an infection but do remember pain. No swelling occured. It's been a year since root canals were done and I'm not in any pain. That's gotta be a good sign right?
