'Naked rambler' remanded ahead of trial

A man attempting to hike naked from Lands End to John O'Groats has
been locked up again to stop him completing his walk.

Stephen Gough, 44, also known as the Naked Rambler, was arrested in
Ross-shire in the Highlands while trying to complete his journey.

Gough has been back in court ahead of his trial next month.

He appeared at Dingwall Sheriff Court wearing nothing but a beige
blanket tied around his waist with a belt and his hands cuffed behind
    his back.

Gough, of Eastleigh, Hampshire, denies walking naked in the presence
of the public in circumstances likely to produce a road safety hazard
and a breach of the peace on Cromarty Bridge, Ardullie on October 3.

He also denies breaching bail granted by Perth Sheriff Court and
    Inverness Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyan continued the case until the trial on
November 7, and remanded Gough in custody.
