Good day

This might also be due to trauma, due to a sharp filling or tooth that is constantly irritating the area. Impossible to tell without a full consultation. However, the lateral border of the tongue is a high risk area for possible potential malignant lesions. I would go see an oral surgeon for a consultation. A biopsy might be required.
