Brown spot on tooth

Hello everyone. I noticed today that I have a brown spot in between one of my teeth. I'm pretty sure it's been there for a long time, but I can't remember 100%. There is no pain, but I was wanting to know if it is just staining. If so, how can I fix it. I went to a dentist this past Tuesday and he did not mention it, but I'd like your opinions as well. Thank you

Your dentist will have a better look at it. From the image, it looks like you have a filling which developed a stain or possible recurrent cavity. Either way, you may need a new filling.
