Broken front tooth 101

My LO broke a tooth playing at the park. Half was gone a dentin was placed and filling to just close the broken tooth not filling the other half yet just to see how the nerve behaves, a year later an infection exactly tooth gets an abscess over it and cray shows nerve died. What are the options by kiddo has at this point. The infection has been treated and inflammation still remains a bit before extraction day. What would be the option for an 11 year having lost a front tooth ( right one )
Suggestion were root canal or pulp until old enough for implant. I have an X-ray and wanted to have a second opinion if there is no other alternative than extraction. Thanks everyone.

It sounds like you are already looking for a second opinion, which is great. I recommend visiting a pediatric dentist who has experience with this kind of situation, or even a pediatric endodontist, to get a thorough assessment and discuss your options.

Get an RCT by an endodontist. Because of his age, the canal is very wide and can be tricky for a general dentist to do RCT, esp when so much is depending upon a good result. An extraction at this age would be disastrous.
Yes, maybe will need implant in later life, but that also carries risk so try and delay as long as possible (25yo+).
I know this happened at a park and these things are unavoidable, but if your LO plays a contact sport or dirt bike riding, get a customised dentist-made mouthguard. Better still, don't get into contact sports at all.
