Bleeding beneath gums

At a recent dental cleaning appointment, I was told that I had extensive bleeding, but I didn’t feel or taste any blood during the exam. When I question the hygienist she said that the bleeding was beneath my gums, which didn’t make any sense to me. Is that even possible that I wouldn’t taste any of the blood??

It is strange that you did not taste any blood if the bleeding was 'extensive'. Did she recommend any additional treatment?

Yes, I was told that they could not complete the cleaning and I needed to schedule two 1 1/2 hour appointments for a deep cleaning. Which I typically get due to deep pockets in my gums. My gut feeling is that she was telling me just anything and wasn’t being honest. I feel like I need to find another dentist because I don’t really trust her at this point.
