At the end of my wits....root canal is good and fine and I have now been back to endodontist and 3 dentists

I have posted before. Had a root canal done on tooth number 5. Was great for 3 weeks until tooth was shaved down for crown. Started having pain after that for almost 2 months now starting with the temporary crown. Permanent crown pain was the same or worse. All dentists say nothing wrong with tooth. Went back to endodontist this week for a cone beam scan and no signs of infection or crack. I am being sent to a periodontal dentist next but I'm honestly done. My pain radiates into my lower jaw and feels like a bruised/burning/pressure type pain. Sometimes I can feel it in my neck and even radiating down into my thumb (probably traveling along a nerve). It's the tooth no medical emergency.

Only thing endo said was they suspect perio or dental crown is problem. I told all 3 dentists it felt like the crown or dental cement was pressing on a nerve in my gums and all told me crown looks great. It's very painful. Only thing that helps is dental steroids. When I use those my pain goes almost to a zero when I put on area and comes back days after. Any thoughts? I think I'm done with the tooth at this point and don't care anymore. My only other fear is I have trigiminal neuralgia and am screwed either way. Endo said they have seen neuralgia before and my symptoms don't really seem consistent with that.

It sounds like the tooth is ending up causing you more pain in the long run. Have you considered extracting the tooth and replacing it with an implant?

I'm ready for extraction at this point but don't really want an implant there due to my issues. Thinking denture

A denture is also an option. At some point, you have to take into account the financial and emotional burden a painful tooth is taking on you, and then make a decision.

Very true. I think I'm just scared too. Like what if this is nerve damage or something? Endo doesn't think so (he said it would be like an electric shock. Mine is like a bruised pressure feeling in jaw). Hopefully I will be able to make best choice soon

Does not sound like nerve pain. Nerve issue is usually like an electric shock or pins and needles type of feeling. So I agree that it does not sound like nerve damage
