Advice about a lump

hello. I had my wisdom teeth taken out 3 weeks ago. They were partially impacted so they had to cut my gum and cheek. I had stitches (marked as an X on the photo) but since having stitches and they fell off it’s left a hard lump on my cheek which is painful (circled in the photo). Is this scar tissue or a undissolved stitch? I have spoken to my hospital where I had it done and they won’t see me as it’s not classed as an emergency. Has anyone else seen this? Will it go and flatten over time?

This is not an emergency, which is correct. This is either scar tissue, due to the surgical procedure, which will gradually become asymptomatic, or it is bone, which will resorb over the next few months. Just be patient
