Hi, was wondering if the following is normal? I have a really deep wisdom tooth socket after an impacted tooth in my lower left side. My suture fell out day 5. I am 8 days post op and can still barely eat and sleep due to some pain. It's so deep I cannot even see inside to see if there is debris/dry socket. Will this heal correctly? I see my dentist tomorrow but wanted some opinions. Is there any way this could be re sutured? Thanks

Good day,

The area looks inflamed and based on the pain that you are experiencing i.e can't eat and sleep, it might be an indication that you have a dry socket. If you have any anti-inflammatory medication, take it and let the dentist evaluate if the socket needs to be rinsed out, to allow a new blood clot to form.

Thanks so much. Pain has receded to ear and temple so i'm sure thats what it is. Post op is tomorrow, so I'll see what they say.
