Can a sinus infection cause gums to feel irritated? mine feel like they are
tingling or have pressure on them around my upper central teeth and on the
left hand side teeth too. I can't see anything wrong with my gums but it is
very irritating and sometimes feels like it affects the teeth too. Taking
sinutab at the moment and for a few hours it goes away and then comes back
just the same as before. I can wake in the morning and it isn't there, but
an hour or so after getting up it comes back again.

I'm having an op within the next couple of months to open up the sinus
passages as well as correct a deviated septum.

Sinus infection causing pain referred to the upper molars and premolars
is quite common. Often the pain is posture-dependent--ie: the pain may
be relieved or exacerbated alternatively by lying down or standing up.
Of course there is no way to tell your teeth are not responsible for
this pain without having them checked, so if you haven't in a while,
have your dentist rule out a dental cause for this pain.

    Good luck,

They aren't always super close, but frequently are. You can imagine
that tapping on a tooth that has roots in pretty intimate contact with
the sinus membrane (separated by only a thin layer of bone) can cause
pain if the sinus floor is inflamed. Since pain to percussion can be a
sign of dental abscess, this very frequently poses a diagnostic problem.
