crowns on 2 top front teeth

Hi,

I am a 30 year old woman and I need crowns on my 2 top front teeth. It is because of veneers (badly done at the age of 16... big regret ) which need replacement.

I know nothing about dentistry and I have a few questions :

1-is the quantity of tooth structure to put a crown standard or is it the dentist that decides? I still have a lot of structure since I had only veneers done (even if the dentist took off too much structure for a simple veneer) so I want to keep as much tooth as I can!

2-is a good fitting crown going to limit gingivitis? My gum are swollen around my veneers (dentist says it is because of the bad fit) so I hope that a "good crown" is going to help with that.

3-is it a good idea to get an electric toothbrush?

4- should I be concerned about anything else? I trust my dentist but what specific questions should I ask him? Should I ask for an "all porcelain crown" or with metal?

thank you for your help!
