Bruised/sprained tooth

I recently went to the Dentist with a Abscess on my first upper molar in which I am receiving root canal treatment. During the procedure of the root canal the dentist put a lot of his weight down on my front tooth due to struggling opening a canal in my molar and one week later my front tooth has begun hurting a lot. My gum seems it's regular self but I'm in a lot of pain, I went back to the Dentist and he has given me antibiotics & painkillers but I'm still in a great deal of pain, does anyone know how long this can last?
