Altered Passive Eruption?

For some time now, I have wondered why my teeth were so small and why they barely showed when I smile. I looked into it and found a problem with the gums called altered passive eruption. My teeth and gums look similar to others who have been diagnosed with this issue. However, I want to make sure I'm not crazy before I go into the dentist's office complaining about this. Lol.

Looking at my pic, do you think I'm rightfully concerned about this? Thanks for any input.
