On a different note......

Smoked some great baby back ribs last weekend and fried my first
turkey. We've been eating
lots of wilted lettuce/onions and picked a few beets this week. My
stepmom gave us a bunch of
fresh strawberries as well. Spring sure tastes good! (especially
compared to spam)

Did I mentioned that both kids got 4.0's this semester?

Almost scary, but I'll take it.

I could never keep them ribs lit.

Glad to hear that you got as *fried* as a turkey though.

Bet your ribs were fresher than mine. Smoked a pork butt for 12 hours
Sat. - had to get up a 5 AM and couldn't get back to sleep - was worth it.

First fried turkey??? I've been doing them for years, you live north of me
and they still call me a damn yankee.

Pretty cool way to do a turkey though isn't it. Was there any beer
involved? Lemme know when you're in town again - you can have some from the
extremely local Brewery.

Can't go wrong with a Brinkman bullet style that has a water pan. Just be
sure to get the one that has a separate vented firepan. The water keeps the
temps in the low 200s and you can use big chunks of wood. That way it can
be unattended for hours.
