Hi,

I know in an ideal world teeth should be brushed at least twice a day.

Is it Ok or acceptable to have one good brush per day, I mean a thorough
brush as opposed to a quick once over.

How long should you really have a check up and to have your teeth descaled?
Is it very important you have it done if your not having any pain or
discomfort?

Thankyou in advance for the general advice
Jack

Hi, I'm not a dentist but this webpage addresses part one of your
question: http://www.doctorspiller.com/Prevention.htm

The rule of thumb is every 6 months, though this figure is somewhat
arbitrary. Depending on your gums and teeth, every 3 month to once a
year is a ballpark figure. Your dentist would know best. It's important
you have your teeth scaled as a preventative measure. Don't wait until
you're having pain or discomfort.
