I have an impacted canine which may or may not need to be replaced, and
I need braces (to straighten out my other teeth) at the same time. I've
been to two orthodontists (both were highly recommended).

The first orthodontist said, if they are unable to pull my impacted
tooth into place, they will shape another tooth into a canine. He said
that at the end of my treatment (including braces), everything would
look natural.

The second orthodontist said that if I need to replace my canine, I
would need to get get an artificial tooth.

I'm very confused... what should I do?

do you have a family or general dentist? if so, he or she will be the
person to contact the orthodontists and discuss his or her feelings
with them. your general dentist can then explain your options and his
recommendations to you
